Latin Excursions new Argentine and Chile wine tours-designed for the true wine enthusiast-allows travelers to sample the best vineyards and up-and-coming wineries of both sides of the Andes border. For red wine lovers, Chile produces a hearty and complex Cab that will give Napa Valley a run for their money and for white wine lovers a crisp and fruity Chardonnay pairs nicely with Chile’s tasty seafood dishes.

Argentina is renowned for their huge spicy Malbecs that pair perfectly with some of the world´s best steak and a less known floral wine- Torrentes is another standout.

The itinerary begins with a few days in Argentina’s tango capital exploring the many colorful neighborhoods this cosmopolitan city has to offer. After a few days of tasting the cultural and historical delights, you’ll head to Mendoza for wine tasting and fine dining that would make Dionysus proud. The itinerary visits both smaller, family-ran vineyards and larger, elaborate wineries with time for learning about the Argentina wine production, picnics in the rolling vineyards, bike rides, and leisurely lunches at top restaurants.

You’ll cross the Andean border with breathtaking landscapes of the massive Andes before landing in Chile. During the Chile visit, explore two valleys-Maipu and Colchagua Valley staying at picturesque wine lodges and personalized guide with numerous wineries. The tour ends with some time visiting Santiago’s highlights for more insight in the countries divided past.

For those with more time to spare, a visit to Chile’s coastal sandy beaches and cultural port city of Valparaiso is a must! All of our tours are customized for your specific enjoyment. So tell us how you would like to adjust to fit exactly what you want.

We have created a new experience in Argentina that is specially created for wine and gourmet food enthusiasts. Our Argentina culinary tour begins in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires for a few days taking in the capital’s cultural attractions and fabulous restaurants-famed for their savory steaks and hearty red wines. The journey continues to Mendoza; land of rolling vineyards, family-ran wineries, quaint wine lodges, and refined restaurants. Take a cooking lesson at Andeluna Winery, where guests are taught the secrets of Argentina’s traditional delicacies. Lunch will be served among the vineyards with a front row view of the snow capped Andes peaks.

Continue to Salentein winery, best known for their exquisite reds and the on-site Kilka museum housing artwork from local artists. The Almacen Sur-a hidden restaurant with gorgeous gardens is a must see for any lovers of fine cuisine. The food is locally grown and the herbs are freshly picked from the gardens before each meal. Every dish of the five course feast is carefully paired with a selected Mendoza varietal. Next visit the Achevel Ferrer winery to try some of their hearty and well structured Malbecs-noted as the first Argentine wine to receive 96 points by Wine Spectator magazine. Mendoza additionally offers numerous activities for nature lovers alike with river rafting and trekking in the Andes, bike riding, leisurely walks, golf and much more.

For your last few nights in Argentina, stay at a family ranch estancia in the Pampas where you’ll experience the “gaucho” way of life; riding horses, playing polo, swimming, eating asados(traditional bbq), and relaxing-a leisurely way to wrap up your adventure in Argentina. We can customize the itinerary specifically for you that will delight all your senses, including your taste buds!

Famed for its diversity of natural landscapes, boutique hotels, and smaller colonial towns, the Salta Province of Northwestern Argentina has recently been gaining world-wide recognition for its high-altitude quality wine, satisfying even the savviest of wine enthusiasts’ palettes. Latin Excursions personalized Salta Wine Tour offers a new twist to the traditional wine-tasting experience, enticing travelers with the friendly local culture and the breathtaking outdoor beauty of the great Northwest.

After a few days exploring the cosmopolitan tango capital of Buenos Aires and learning more about the history of this dynamic city, the journey sets off North to the mountainous terrain of the Salta wine region, dazzling travelers with its bizarre geological formation, expansive valleys, subtropical forests and salt plains. Salta city, the gateway to the wine region, is the first stop, welcoming travelers with an impressive central plaza dotted with colonial architecture, local restaurants and museums. A visit to one of Salta’s traditional peña(or pub), where tourist and locals alike mingle and the more daring dance to the traditional folklore music, shouldn’t be missed.

After a day enjoying the Saltena capital, the trip sets off on a scenic drive that passes National Parks, small colonial villages, soaring condors and impressive ravines before arriving to the town of Cachi. Next stop is Estancia Colome-set in a picturesque vineyard- for a couple days of indulging in gourmet meals, fine wines produced at their on-site winery and complete relaxation of the peaceful environment. Cafayate, Salta’s main wine producing valley, is where the trip ends, but with many more wine-tasting opportunities along the Cafayate Wine Route-a group of specialty wineries including Finca de Las Nubes and San Pedro de Yacochuya. Don’t forget to try a glass of Torrontes-Argentina’s only indigenous wine: a dry and floral white wine, perfect for drinking on a warm Salta afternoon.
